NLSAT-LLB is the entrance exam for the 3 year LLB program at NLSIU Bengaluru.

2022

The inaugural edition of  the NLSAT-LLB was conducted was in 2022. The first 3 year LLB batch from NLS graduated in 2025. TLOI Students Ayushi Jain and Meher Gandhi secured Rank 1 and Rank 6 respectively in that year.

120 - Seats

There are 120 seats at NLSIU Bengaluru for its 3 year LLB program as of 2025. There are vertical and Horizontal Reservations with Karnataka Domicile reservations.

Part A of NLSAT

The examination consists of 2 Parts. Part A which consists of MCQs relating to Critical Reasoning, Current Affairs, and Reading Comprehension.

Part B of NLSAT

Part B comprises of 5 cases, valued at 12 marks each. They are legal reasoning questions which require no prior knowledge of the law. Students have to write a 15 Mark essay as well.

Last Sunday of April

NLSAT-LLB is usually conducted on the last Sunday of April every year. However, in 2024, it was conducted in March. The duration of the exam is 2.5 hours.

NLSAT is a sui generis paper i.e. one of a kind. This is the only 3 year LLB entrance of the country that requires you to write subjective answers and requires not prior knowledge of law whatsoever.
